How to get Better Responses to Your Email Marketing

Online marketers love sending business related emails to their optin lists, and its been that way since they figured out how to do it. Anyone on your marketing list wants to be there, so it's targeted traffic which is the very best kind to have. So with that said, it is our intent to try to help you make the most from your list, and if you don't have one - then you need to start thinking about building one.

Don't overlook the subject line of your email, for this is critical. Believe it or not, many email marketing campaigns fail because they don't do this right. You must capture your prospect's attention at this point or you risk losing them forever. Just as someone who sees a sales letter will only read on if the headline captures their interest, a person getting an email has to find the subject line of interest. People get lots of emails, and they will only consider an individual one for a few seconds before deciding whether or not to read it. What kind of subject lines should you create? Your goal is to make people want to know what's inside your email, and this can be done in several ways.

You can do this by using an element of shock, surprise, awe or anything that manages to get you a response. Or you can just place the best part of your offer in the subject line. By doing this, you'll first of all get the prospect to actually pay attention and secondly tell them beforehand what they can be expecting. It takes skill and practice to be able to create good subject lines. If you test various subject lines, you can learn which give you the best results. If you want to do this, you have to send emails to two or more groups of subscribers, using a different subject line for each, and find out which one gives you the best results.

It's entirely up to you, but you may want to use the option for requiring your subscribers to double opt-in when they sign-up to your list. It's just a confirmation plus it provides a permanent record that someone wants to be on your marketing list. Things happen, people forget they're on your list, and sometimes there are accusations of spamming - but you can prove you're not doing that. It's illegal to spam, and you can get in a lot of trouble so it's a smart thing to do. It really does not take any extra effort on your part to do it, and it can potentially save you, though. You'll be providing an extra layer of defense, and there's never anything wrong with that.

Stay on a schedule when sending emails. Your subscribers may feel you're acting unprofessionally if you send out emails at strange times with no real pattern. That's why you should have specific time set out to email your subscribers. For example, If you tend to send out emails on Wednesdays then keep to that time line. Very soon you would notice the expectations of your subscribers when waiting for your emails. In summary, the success of any email marketing campaign can be attributed to multiple factors, but it's ultimately up to you to leverage it to your own benefit.
